What is wrong with this US???

Is it me or are we stuck on stupid? I wake up in the morning, look at TV and realize that we are still (5+ years and 4000+ deaths later) in a depressing war. Then I hop in my car, go to work and see how the gas prices are $4/gallon! WTF! I finally arrive at work and go and check my 401K to see if I'm still on track and to my surprise, it is down about 10% for the year. Then I read the news and see that Obama is leading McCain by only 5-10 points. Then I ask myself, what in the world is wrong with us? I know we have extremist nazis out here like Mike Church, Andrew Wilkow and Sean Hannity. But do you mean to tell me we have that many people listening and believing their nonsense? Have we just lost it? Does anyone else see on a daily basis that this country is in dire need of some kind of change? Is it just me? I fail to see how America is falling for the lies of the right. It shouldn't even be a race right now. They try and I assume successfully distract us from the real issues. We are at war, the economy is in the tank, our stock market has dipped to 5 year lows. We cannot live with another 4 years of Bush. How can we ignore the what is directly in front of us everyday? How can we not see the lies this administration has told us? How can we not see the selfish, ignorance portrayed by Bush? I guess we're all just politically blind or worse, we don't care.
